Membership Application

Agreement of Membership

We are excited that you are considering membership! It would be a tremendous privilege for West E. Free to have you as a member of the church and for you, it would be a privilege to be a member at this local church! If you are a follower of Jesus Christ and have a desire to grow and serve, membership at West E. Free could be something you pursue!

West E. Free Church is a family, adopted by God (Gal. 4:6-7; Eph. 1:5). We care for each other, pray for each other, and serve together. If you’re already a Christian, if you’re already in some form of West E. Free community, if you’re already giving of your finances and your time, then you’re already fulfilling some functions of a member. Membership means you are on board. This is your church family and you want to be part of this mission. You want to care for others and receive care from them. (Eph. 2:19 cf. Gal. 6:10). Membership also allows you to serve in some leadership capacities in which God may have gifted you to serve!

We invite you to prayerfully fill this form out and move towards becoming part of the membership at this local church, West E. Free. **This application is for one person only. Members of the same family must fill out their own form.**

Share with us the story of your conversion to Jesus Christ and how that is currently impacting your life.

Agreement of Membership

Our church will receive as members those who have, by faith, accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior, who in their lives manifest the fruits of the true faith in God, and who are willing, according to their ability, to support the church by their prayer, participation, service, and contributions. People who become members of WEFC and are not baptized are urged to take this step at the earliest opportunity. (Acts 2:38, 42, 47; Romans 6:3,4)

My Lifestyle Commitment to Being/becoming a Fully Devoted follower of Jesus Christ

As a church we emphasize the 7C's (characteristics of a fully-devoted follower of Christ.) They are Communion with God, Competent in the Word, Consistent in My Walk, Connected to the Body, Commissioned for Ministry, Committed to the Lost and Compassion for Those in Need.

My Alignment with WEFC's Mission, Unique Calling, Statement of Faith and By-laws:

My Service / Ministry

West Evangelical Free Church Membership Covenant

As a believer in Jesus Christ and as member I commit myself to God and to unity with other members. I commit to living out West Evangelical Free Church’s Mission and Unique calling, and am in agreement with West Evangelical Free Church’s By-Laws. My life will be characterized by the following:

1. I will pursue Communion with God. I will grow in a passion for God that draws me to Him and motivates me to live for Him.

2. I will seek to be Competent in the Word. I will regularly be informed and transformed by the Word of God.

3. I will be Consistent in my walk. I will strive to consistently live out my faith in every area of my life (consistent obedience).

4. I will be Connected to the body. I will seek to develop some deep transparent relationships, plus a genuine commitment to the body of Christ.

5. I will seek to be Commissioned for ministry. I will regularly use my talents and spiritual gifts in the power of the Holy Spirit to serve the body of Christ.

6. I will be Committed to the lost. I will grow in a lifestyle that makes both personal and corporate evangelism a high priority.

7. I will have Compassion for those in need. I will strive to actively care for people in need.

Mission – Developing fully-devoted followers of Christ by intentionally building those who know Christ and passionately pursuing those without Christ.

Our Unique Calling – Multiplying churches that multiply churches to reach our county for Christ.

Christ's command to the church is to make disciples. His command to us as individuals is to become disciples who make disciples. To this end, WEFC provides vision, training and an environment for outreach and spiritual growth. But what happens in your life depends primarily on you (in cooperation with the Holy Spirit). You must choose to become a disciple. I have read and agree to the information provided. I understand that inserting my name below acts as my electronic signature.

Next Steps

Your application will be reviewed by elders at their next monthly meeting. Keep in mind that depending on the timing of your application, it may be up to a month before the elders will review it. After the meeting, an elder will contact you to set up a membership interview. At the following elder meeting, elders will hear a report on your membership interview and will vote on your membership. The last step is being notified of your membership decision and assuming it is approved you will be announced at the next Quarterly Business Meeting of the congregation! Please keep in mind that due to timing of meetings, this process may take a few months.
